TAMPA -- Numara Software, a leader in service desk management solutions for IT professionals, today announced that its CEO, David Weiss, was named a finalist in Tampa Bay CEO Magazine’s CEO of the Year competition in the technology category. The competition, which honors business leaders across eight industries, culminates in a presentation in December at which an overall winner and individual category winners will be announced. Winners will be selected based upon their organization’s market leadership, community involvement, performance and vision.

In December 2005, Weiss led a successful acquisition of the company by TA Associates, one of the world’s largest and most experienced private equity firms, and renamed the company Numara Software. At that time, he was named President and CEO of the company and charged with leading the company’s aggressive growth plans and building upon its existing leadership position in the help desk and asset management market. The company now boasts over 50,000 customer sites worldwide.
